I don't know. I'm not sure that it's appropriate to share a child's grief in front of the whole world like that. I'm not sure that Michael would have wanted his children displayed like that in front of everyone so people can hound them down like we did him.
@ Curious - I think she wanted to speak - did you notice that after Rev. Sharptons words to the children, she was one of the first family members to stand up and applaud? Her words alone gave pause to many people who were ripping MJ. He was a father - their father and her words were a repudiation of anyone that says otherwise.
They will be hounded anyway. Is it right? No. However, Michael chose to create children knowing what it would bring. The family chose to allow the children to attend a memorial for their father. Was it right? I believe it was, it humanized their father and the relationship they shared.
Even before he died, he was starting to let them go unmasked. Having been hounded, (if we're honest he courted some of the publicity) his entire life, and unable to have a childhood, maybe he was rethinking his isolation of them from the public strategy.
No commentary needed. This is possibly the most touching moment of the whole memorial.

ReplyDeleteIt was a touching moment, certainly. But yo, I really, really, really hope that we don't hear from her again anytime soon.
